Drishti Compost, a nonprofit based in Virginia Beach, is committed to diverting food scraps from landfills. Our mission is to advocate for sustainability and promote the concept of closing the loop through educational initiatives aimed at schools, businesses, houses of worship, and individuals across Hampton Roads.

Our closed-loop food circle embodies a program where food waste is not wasted; but instead recycled and reused to grow healthier food. By composting food scraps instead of sending them to landfills, we create nutrient-rich compost that enriches the soil for growing new crops, thus completing the loop. This approach minimizes waste, reduces environmental impact, and fosters the regeneration of a healthier eco-system. Better soil means healthier food, and healthier food means healthier humans.
